The Sewing Inspector must ensure that daily departmental goals are met and assist in inspecting and cleaning up all sewn pieces/kits before sending them for further processing while meeting the objectives of Sutter Street Manufacturing in safety, service, quality, and cost. Primary area of focus for inspector and/or stager will be in the inspection and staging area of the sewing department on the weekend shift.
The Sewing Inspection & Staging position is located in Booneville, MS.

- Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to achieve departmental and facility production goals using documented Standard Operating Procedures by performing the assigned task safely, correctly, and quickly while demonstrating integrity and acting in a responsible and accountable manner.
- Establish and promote hard work ethics through teamwork and collaboration with associates and departmental leadership to maximize the productivity of the departments while ensuring quality and adhering to and complying with all safety policies.
- Always communicate openly and professionally with departmental leadership to ensure issues and obstacles can be addressed promptly.
- “Clean up” sewn covers behind sewers by cutting all strings and detailing pieces before inspection process can begin. Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to achieve departmental and facility production goals using documented SOPs.
- Assure has consistent ½ inch seam when needed.
- Assure ticket and fabric is correct with the PRD while performing department tasks safely, correctly, and quickly while demonstrating integrity and acting in a responsible and accountable manner.
- Distribute work to sewing operators as needed and instructed by operational leadership.
- Establish and promote hard work ethics through teamwork and collaboration with associates.
- Inspect overall appearance to include standing back and visually checking.
- Work with the associates to maximize the productivity of the departments while ensuring quality and adhering to and complying with all safety policies.
- Complete a final review to include, but not limited to, all seams sewn straight, no dropped stitches, no puckered fabric, no fabric defects visible, cushion corners even side to side with tailoring correct, cushions & back filled out correctly and fit the piece, no lumps or cat tracks, assure all welt is straight and even.
- Assure all deck labels are in the correct location.
- Suggest improvements to current techniques and processes.
- Ensure that overall cleanliness of the area is maintained throughout the shift.

- At least 1 year of experience in quality operations in an upper-end upholstered furniture manufacturing environment and ………
- Good math and reading skills.
- Experience in reading and understanding production tickets.
- Ability to interpret simple instructions commonly placed in a production manual.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
- Good communication skills – oral and written and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
- Have good Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a team with other associates and managers.
- Excellent time-management skills including ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Have a strong sense of urgency and time management to meet established deadlines.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish.

- Ability to stand for up to 12-hour periods and bend and twist at waist and knees as required to inspect sewn pieces and kits. furniture.
- Ability to see patterns on fabrics and color variations.
