Description

 

        This position provides instructions to associates responsible for the timely and accurate movement of merchandise either manually, conveyor or using lift equipment through the Williams-Sonoma Mail Order Facility. The HAL Exceptionist will focus on maintaining service,         cost and quality across all brands utilizing associates, equipment and leadership skills to meet and exceed customer expectations. This person will also:

 

        ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain the Hardlines Automation Lettering System (HAL)

  • Ensure Personalization associates are supported with HAL system daily (to include strong communication and customer service skills).

  • Handle all personalization customer service issues with Call Centers.

  • Assist the Sample Process Team with any technical needs

  • Works along with other associates in the performance of other PZ duties when not engaged in the above

  • Assist with the training process

  • Build SKU and Artwork templates for HAL.

  • Train operators on HAL.

  • Ensure that the HAL is operating properly.

  • Provide Technical support for Hardlines in the PZ Facilities.

  • Communicate potential problems with the PZ Team and help develop effective resolutions.

  • Possess strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office, PKMS, IPMS and Crystal Reporting.

  • Maintain acceptable punctuality and attendance record and a professional personal appearance and bearing

  • Continuously seeks process improvements and suggests changes to Operations Manager

  • Exhibits skills which demonstrate commitment to the Williams-Sonoma policies and principles

  • Understands departmental processes and instructs/trains associates in the processes

  • Plans/organizes daily work activities, distributes work activities and trains associates on proper equipment operations and housekeeping requirements. Monitors group work activities, assists with work related problems and maintains quality of completed work

  • Ensures production and quality standards are measured, understood and met

  • Drives the business by keeping the work in front of the associates. Keeps the work force focused on all tasks to be accomplished

  • Performs various departmental tasks along with other associates in the department (hands on leadership approach)

  • Always attempts to satisfy our internal and external customer’s demands

  • Maintains a well organized departmental area

  • Communicates to Manager any decisions made concerning associates

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate daily production information

  • Expected to be flexible at all times and to be prepared to assist in other areas of the Distribution Center if necessary

  • Expected to effectively recognize and set priorities, and to plot a smooth flow of work to achieve Distribution Center goals

  • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours during busy seasons and peak

  • Ability to learn HAL, ALS (Automatic Lettering System – Softlines) and other PZ systems


        MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent highly recommended

  • Five (5) years highly proficient experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Strong knowledge of PKMS and Labor Management

  • Advanced knowledge of GravoStyle software, GravoTech Lasers and Engravers

  • Good understanding of digital artwork/lettering

  • Ability to balance multiple tasks

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and extra hours as needed


        PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Hardlines Lasers and Engravers
  • Strong knowledge of digital artwork applications – Adobe Illustrator/Inkscape
  • Strong understanding of DTC order fulfillment process
