SUMMARY:
Lead, manage, and collaborate with design, product development and sourcing teams. In this newly created leadership role, you will be the face between Sutter Manufacturing and Merchants to ensure all new products meet the design, quality and craftmanship specified by design/merchant team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Working with R&D team to coordinate all new upholstery development
- Attend weekly Product Development calls with brand
- Host and participate in all in-person product reviews
- Prepare Product Deck for sample reviews
- Help drive timeline/lead-times for all new upholstery development
- Responsible for updating PD tracker
- Interact with engineering, manufacturing & customer service teams
- Respond to daily inquiries from brand teams
- Approve first samples before shipping to brand
- Assist with the development of SOP related to Brand Manager position
- Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure product meets design direction
- Responsible for working closely with engineering to assist in the setup of new skus
- Work with Sutter's fabric team to ensure new textiles and leathers are set up in system
- Interact with local suppliers to ensure materials meets brand specs
- Notify Sutter team of all seasonal timelines, discontinued products, fabrics & leathers, as well as other important information or changes made by brand
- Work with Quality Assurance Team to ensure issues are resolved on a timely manner
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Dir. of Merchandising and R&D
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year bachelor's degree OR a minimum of 8 years of furniture upholstery or textiles experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent communication - verbal and written
- Previous customer service experience
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to interact professionally at all levels
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must in this role
- Must be able to work in a fast-pace environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
- Exposure to furniture distribution and/or big box distribution is a plus
- Solid understanding of Safety and OSHA standards
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to successfully respond to urgent situations.
- Six Sigma/lean experience preferably in a distribution/warehouse environment
