POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of this position is to accurately determine and deliver the manufacturing cost of new upholstery designs/collections.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Review and analyzing product design, raw materials, manufacturing rates and methods to determine cost of product

  • Calculate cost estimates of new and proposed products

  • Prepare cost sheets for review and approval

  • Collaborate with key R&D team members to gather accurate materials, labor, as well as manufacturing costs

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Able to work under pressure and multitask

  • Responsible for comparing standard costs to actual production costs

  • Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost

  • Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products

  • Respond to daily inquiries from brand

  • Able to work extended hours when needed

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Dir. of Engineering

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 solid years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance

  • Minimum of 2 years of (upholstery) furniture experience

  • Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles

  • Computer Literate – Advance Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word

  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards

  • Good verbal and written communications skills and ability to work on a team as well as independently

    Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to be able to work in fast-paced adaptive work environment
