PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Clean up” furniture piece after trimmer has finished, by cutting all strings and detailing piece before inspection process can begin
  • Assure ticket and fabric are correct with the frame piece it is built on
  • Assure correct cushions and backs are in the piece
  • Inspect overall appearance to include standing back and visually checking
  • Complete final inspection to include, but not limited to, all seams are sewn straight, no dropped stitches, no puckered fabric, no fabric defects visible, cushion corners even side to side with tailoring correct, cushions & backs filled out correctly and fit the piece, no lumps or cat tracks, assure all welt is straight and even.
  • Assure all deck labels are in the correct location
  • Inspector to sit on each piece to assure it sits properly and cushions and backs sit properly
  • Take photos of each piece for tracking quality issues
  • After inspected and if no repairs are needed, scan the ticket and move furniture into the Shipping department

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Up to 3 years experience in the quality control area with specific experience in an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment
  • Experienced in using computers for tracking and updating kit location for customer service
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
  • Good communication skills – oral and written
  • Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards
  • Excellent time-management skills including the ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Ability to deal with upholsterers and trimmers on issues needing correction of the furniture piece
  • Ability to frequently lift objects 50-75 lbs or more
  • Ability to bend and twist
  • Ability to push finished furniture across the floor
  • Other duties as assigned to include floating to final and bed inspect areas
