Business Web App Developer

At Williams Sonoma, Inc., we are looking for a passionate web developer to design and create Next-Generation business applications that capture new data, provide valuable “live” information, and are intuitive for associates and managers to use. Successful candidate will work hand in hand with Systems Analysts and business users at all levels to produce code from business requirements.

Job Description

As a web developer for Williams Sonoma, you will be creating web applications hosted in our virtual server environment to support our Supply Chain operations. In this role, you will not be limited to a specific part of the development cycle! You will have the opportunity to design and develop the back-end databases, server-side APIs, and client-side scripting for user interfaces. You will also work hand-in-hand with Systems Analysts and users to document requirements and software diagrams to produce code.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technology field (preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering) – May substitute with a Developer certificate and additional experience
  • 2-4 years of experience building web applications with backends
  • ASP.Net/C# or Java (preferably ASP.Net/C#)
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • JQuery and JQueryUI Widget or React Frameworks
  • Object Oriented Design and Programming
  • Strong SQL foundation for creating and querying databases (preferably MySQL, Oracle, or DB2)
  • Database design with understanding of normalization concepts
  • Able to read and produce UML and ERD diagrams
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC
  • Experience with AJAX design concepts
  • Experience working in a version-controlled environment (GIT preferred)

Other Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with n-tier applications in a distributed environment
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with testing concepts across the SDLC
  • Experience performing business analysis to produce business requirements

  • Able to communicate with business team to revise business requirements
