Description

Position Summary:

Work in the finished goods department sewing parts back together for the inside upholstery and trimming line.

 

Primary Job Function/Duties:

  • Sewer will make repairs such as sewing pulls on fabric, sewing welts and sewing outbacks together and all other repairs as needed in the upholstery/trim area.
  • Adhere to established sewing standards including: ½” seams, sewing is straight and in alignment with cover pattern, and no drop stitches.

 

 
 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be experienced in all sewing areas to include double needle, top stitch, serge, cushion sew, flat sew, slip cover sew as well as border sew and zipper sew

  • Must have 3 years experience in production of upper-end upholstery fabric sewing in an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment

  • Ability to read and understand production tickets

  • Excellent time-management skills including ability to work independently with little supervision

  • Ability to frequently lift bundles of approximately 50 lbs

  • Ability to sit or stand for 8 to 10 hour periods

  • Ability to interpret simply sewing instructions commonly placed in a sewing manual

Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirement
