Primary area of focus for this position will be working in the fabric receiving department on the weekday shift. The associate will work throughout the department as needed to properly unload, receive, inventory, and stage fabric rolls for use in the cutting department. The associate will be required to push buggies, use a manual pallet jack, and possibly a forklift, after successful certification, to complete the tasks per the standard operating procedures of the assigned position to ensure that the daily departmental goals and objectives of Sutter Street Manufacturing in safety, service, quality, and cost are met. The use of a PC and scanner may also be required.

- Ensure tags and tickets are correctly placed on items and they are correctly entered to ensure they are accounted for within the inventory system and follow system requirements for tracking materials.

- At least 1 year of experience in in a fast-paced warehouse environment is required and ………
- Associate must be willing and able to achieve successful certification to operating a powered industrial truck and operate the equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Good math and reading skills with good communication skills-oral and written and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to read and understand production tickets and schedules and interpret simple instructions commonly placed in a standard operating procedure.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks safely in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a part of a team with other associates and managers with a strong sense of urgency and time management to meet established deadlines.
We prefer some of these qualities as well….
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience operating a powered industrial truck is preferred.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish.
Review these physical requirements, as they play a major part in this role….
- Must have the ability to stand for 10-hour periods and bend and twist at waist and knees as required to load and unload trucks, roll buggies, and pallets with a pallet jack.
- The associate in this position will frequently need to lift items and carry that weigh 30 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift items that weigh up to 60 pounds.
- The associate in this position will frequently be required to push load buggies (fabric trees) requiring up to 60 pounds of force
