JOB SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for all items related to creating upholstery furniture samples in the R&D Department. Main responsibility is ensuring that goods/materials/supplies are delivered on time. This includes negotiating best prices, preparing and sending purchase orders to suppliers, keeping records of purchases, and ensuring materials are delivered on time. The candidate will take ownership of all R&D materials required to produce product samples.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Obtain accurate/current spec sheet (from Coordinator) to present to vendor with order

Execute and distribute purchase orders to vendors

Track all purchase orders

Establish timely shipment / arrival dates based on the R&D Schedule

Track and communicate the status of purchase orders from creation to receipt of goods; updating R&D Tracker with pertinent purchase order information

Track and communicate the status of inbound deliveries by monitoring departure / arrival dates for changes; updating as needed.

Be the point of contact within R&D for any vendor inquiries or issues

Coordinate materials received and distribute within the R&D Team

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position will report directly to: Director of Engineering
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s Degree or, Associate Degree and 2 years of experience in related field. More extensive experience will be considered as substitute to a degree.

2 years in the upholstered furniture industry

Extensive experience in desk top software required with an emphasis on skills using, adapting, optimizing spreadsheets. Ability to understand and create spreadsheet layouts and formulas.

Skills in Problem Solving, Mathematics, Computer Software. ERP system knowledge is a plus.
