Position Summary:
  • The primary point of contact in an assigned area
  • Assist with reporting and coordinating a team of associates to reach desired results in accordance with directives, policies, and KPI’s
  • Expected to rotate between departments for an extended period of time
 
Primary Functions:
  • Responsible for maintaining a safety oriented culture while communicating unsafe conditions
  • Be a role model to other associates
  • Ensure processes are documented and followed
  • Communicate standard processes to all associates, daily goals, tracking progress, communicating challenges, deploying resources and requesting support from managers
  • Work closely with managers to ensure service checks demonstrate consistency across all processes and provide feedback to the managers regarding team performance
  • Train and audit processes to ensure consistency
  • Communicate in a professional and timely manner:
  • Brief team and lead start-up meetings
  • Communicate necessary data and ensure all daily reporting is accurate while monitoring the work flow
  • Track and communicate daily targets to Ops Managers and the team
  • Work closely with Ops Managers to identify constraints and adjust resources
  • Communicate with peer group to track daily performance of the Big Team and adjust accordingly
 
Qualifications:
  • Prior warehouse distribution center experience as a supervisor or department lead
  • MHE Certification preferred
  • PKMS and Yard Management experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain the work flow and inventory integrity
  • Analyze and suggest opportunity for productivity improvement
  • Lead and coordinate a small but highly visible team
  • Multitask and be extremely detailed on all written and communication/documentation, including email etiquette
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge – especially Outlook, Excel preferred
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and be a fast learner
  • Ability to coach and train process are required
  • Excellent attendance and willingness to be part of a team – performing whatever duties are necessary
  • Utilize Williams-Sonoma’s Mission, Vision, and Values to govern daily activities, including guidance to other associates and departments
