SUMMARY:

The Transportation Team Lead responsibilities include: Managing day to day execution of Furniture and Inbound vendor network, $65 million in annual spend. Responsible for meeting service and cost metrics. Help lead and develop team of 7 logistic coordinators. Other responsibilities include relationship building and management of Williams-Sonoma's carriers, vendors, brand management, DC's and furniture delivery hubs. Contract administration and negotiation, assisting in RFP's, network analysis and project management. Generate daily/weekly/and monthly reports. Heavy analysis of large amount of data is required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee day to day transportation activities associated with Williams-Sonoma, Inc.'s furniture line-haul into our furniture delivery hubs.

  • Oversee transportation activities associated with domestic vendor inbound into all Williams-Sonoma DC’s

  • Provide leadership, growth and development to team of logistics coordinators

  • Conduct business review with business partners such as carriers, vendors, DC partners.

  • Drive cost and process improvement initiatives.

  • Manage daily/weekly/monthly metrics reports and present results to management.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or Engineering

  • Experience in a transportation, distribution or supply chain role

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead projects to closure

  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work independently

  • Proficient in analysis tools such as MS Office, QlikView, or other business intelligence tools.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent Analytical, Technical, and Presentation skills

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience negotiating and administering LTL, IM and TL contracts

  • Previous experience with network design, logistics engineering, and TMS (Transportation Management Systems)
