PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Planner will provide daily routing administrative functions for regional hubs.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to completing various preparations within the Routing Software, Descartes RoutePlanner, and facilitating Hub support on various escalations emails.  Router will work closely with Logistics.

  • Analysts, Routers, and regional hubs to ensure route completion timeliness.   
  • Interface with various manual inputs with Descartes RoutePlanner:
    • Updating Customer addresses
    • Inputting corrected Service time
  • Evaluate and respond to customer special circumstances: 
    • Escalated orders (same-day routes, unplanned zone deliveries)
    • Next available emails
    • Specific delivery instructions
  • Routing Timeliness: completing routing preparation for effective daily route completion
  • Communication liaison between Hubs, Schedulers, Routing Analysts and Routers
  • Must exhibit exceptional analytical skills and possess the following:
    • Experience in a fast paced, dynamic distribution environment is required
    • A strong internal and external customer commitment
    • Consistency and reliability
    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships at multiple levels in order to work cross organizationally toward solutions and excellent leadership and consensus building skills
    • Responsible for achieving efficiency and production objectives consistent with quality requirements
    • Ability to motivate a team to work together in the most efficient manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1-year admin experience or in related field.
  • Proven proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Projects, etc.)
  • Exceptional ability to deliver informative, well-organized communications to all levels
  • Descartes or other Routing System Knowledge preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred
