Description
POSITION SUMMARY: With minimal supervision, supports Operations Manager/General Operations Manager with leading, guiding and directing a group of associates while ensuring that daily departmental goals are met through the Williams-Sonoma objectives in Safety, Service, Quality and Cost in the assigned department.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize Williams-Sonoma's Mission, Vision, and Values to govern daily activities, including guidance to other associates on daily activities
- Partner with Manager to perform daily, blind cycle counts
- Responsible to select locations to be cycle counted for the day in accordance with enclosed guidelines*
- Provide count instruction to the ICC team
- Review count variances and assign locations for independent recount
- Provides weekly reporting on inventory accuracy
- Maintain master list of locations with date of last cycle count
- Maintain variance reports and evidence of independent recount for auditors
- Ensure availability of materials (supplies) and resources to all associates in the team, so that they can perform their duties with maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Ensure associates have the equipment and supplies needed to do their job; follow processes to ensure non-functional equipment is repaired or replaced
- Ensure downtime issues are addressed as soon as they arise through the correct channels, including systemic and mechanical
- Conduct root cause analysis on issues pertaining to safety, service, quality and cost and develop and implement solutions to address these root causes
- Adopt and endorse lean manufacturing concepts where applicable
- Champion change management when required and adopt a continuous improvement philosophy
- Maintain material handling equipment certification
- Knowledgeable about Sutter Street inventory and processes
- And other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or a High School Diploma combined with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, material handling or inventory management.
- Experience in performing physical and cycle count
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to stoop/bend & reach frequently (floor/waist/shoulder/overhead)
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in stressful situations
- Excellent math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Able to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios and percentages to practical situations
- Demonstrate attention to detail and possess problem solving skills
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access as well as reporting tools)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in high volume distribution or manufacturing
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- Lean/Six Sigma certification
- Bi-lingual
