The Maintenance Team Lead-DC position is located in Braselton, GA

The Maintenance Team Lead provides technical leadership and direction to the maintenance teams responsible for repair of conveyors; ovens; electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; painting; and other building systems.  In the absence of Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Team Lead handles day to day operations and associated documentation.


  • Monitor, maintain, perform standard repairs, maintenance, improvements, oversees progress of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance events for their assigned area. Ensure the timely completion of all tasks whether it is scheduled preventive maintenance, project, corrective, or emergency work orders.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to problem solve and understand resources to accomplish tasks
  • Read, interpret, and implement work orders and schedule.
  • Document facilities maintenance requirements and maintain appropriate records of work performed.
  • Monitor and advise management of the status of work in progress and any problems or concerns that arise.
  • Performs quality assurance audits of maintenance activities, tools, and equipment. Ensure tools needed for each job are available and in good working order at the beginning of a task. Verify all equipment and tools are returned to their assigned location in good working condition.
  • Estimate the labor, parts, and materials required to perform work described on generated work orders. Ensure the availability and readiness of all requirements prior to commencement of work.
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members’ skills and experience.
  • Works with maintenance manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Determines the most effective way to utilize available labor hours to achieve maximum efficiency. Approved vendors and contractors will be considered in this decision-making process.
  • Successfully directs tasks from start to finish involving multiple departments, 3PL's, and vendors.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively perform e-mail communication
  • Effectively work with entry level associates as well as higher levels of management
  • Clearly and concisely describe complex issues to others to provide context for needed repairs
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
  • Researches and evaluates current maintenance process/procedures, manufacture service bulletins, and equipment incident history to facilitate development of solutions and improve overall equipment reliability.
  • Develop bill of materials for the CMMS planning system so Material Requisition Plan can provide the materials and parts required for specific work order.
  • Verify parts and materials readiness in advance of the job’s scheduled start time.
  • Assists with the planning, preparation, and execution of training and orientation for new and existing maintenance team members.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within all departments
  • Flexibility with work hours and days. Must be willing to work weekends, odd work weeks, and variable shifts. (7 days a week operation, including holidays)
  • Tracking and storing the departments inventory, including spare parts
  • Work with engineering and project management to ensure the consistency and reliability of equipment to be used when upgrading an existing system or installing a new system.
  • Work with local county/municipal officials in an emergency
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least five years of maintenance experience required.
  • Assists and leads in the general maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to lead maintenance team across all trades.
  • Critical to the long-term success of WSI by ensuring equipment availability to support customer needs.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds
  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
