The Senior Inventory Planner (Omni) is responsible for developing and leading inventory strategies that support omni-channel fulfillment across Buy Online Pick Up In Store (BOPIS), Buy Online Ship from Store (BOSFS), and Buy Online Ship to Store (BOSTS) services.

 

This role connects corporate inventory plans, store-level inventory availability, fulfillment performance, labor forecasting, and customer experience outcomes across WSI Brands. The Senior Inventory Planner will partner closely with Inventory Planning, Merchandising, Distribution, Store Operations, E-commerce, and IT to maximize omni sales, optimize inventory turn, reduce backorders and cancellations, protect store presentation standards, and drive profitable growth.

 

The ideal candidate is a data-driven business owner who can translate complex inventory and fulfillment data into clear recommendations, lead cross-functional alignment, improve processes, and influence business decisions across multiple teams.

 

The Senior Inventory Planner - Omni is located in San Francisco, CA.

You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Own the omni-inventory planning process for BOPIS, BOSFS, and BOSTS, ensuring inventory strategies support sales growth, service levels, inventory productivity, and customer experience goals
  • Translate Corporate Open-To-Buy plans, historical omni demand, store inventory positions, and service-level trends into store-level forecasts used to support omni fulfillment planning and store labor budgeting
  • Lead BOSFS inventory strategies that maximize sales, reduce aged or clearance inventory in stores, and identify opportunities to leverage store inventory to mitigate enterprise backorders
  • Develop and maintain reporting that monitors omni sales, demand trends, store fulfillment performance, inventory availability, back order opportunity, cancellation risk, aging inventory, and service-level performance
  • Identify risks and opportunities across omni services and recommend actions to improve in-stock position, inventory turn, fulfillment speed, profitability, and customer experience
  • Partner with Store Operations to evaluate store performance, identify execution gaps, and support action plans that improve on-time order fulfillment and reduce customer delays
  • Partner with Merchandising, Visual, Inventory Planning, and Store Operations to review floor set plans, key-item representation, presentation minimums, and safety stock needs to protect in-store selling and display quantities from omni demand
  • Use historical data, seasonal trends, product performance, pricing, inventory availability, and fulfillment behavior to identify key learnings and apply them to future seasons, promotions, and omni strategies
  • Partner with Distribution, Inventory, and IT teams to troubleshoot omni inventory, fulfillment, reporting, and process issues; support testing, enhancements, and post-release validation as needed
  • Build standardized processes, documentation, reporting routines, and communication tools that improve visibility, reduce manual work, and create consistency across omni inventory planning workflows
  • Lead practical adoption of approved AI tools within Omni inventory planning by developing use cases that improve forecasting, reporting, exception management, process documentation, and decision support across BOPIS, BOSFS, and BOSTS workflows
  • Lead cross-functional conversations with Inventory, Merchandising, Store Operations, Distribution, E-commerce, and IT partners to align priorities, resolve issues, and support profitable omni growth
  • Mentor or support planners, coordinators, or cross-functional partners by sharing best practices, training users on omni planning processes, and helping build broader organizational capability
  • Operate a computer and communicate via telephone
  • Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Inventory Management, Inventory Planning, Allocation, Replenishment, Merchandise Planning, or a related retail planning function; omni-channel, e-commerce, store fulfillment, or retail channel experience preferred
  • Data-driven individual with a curious, entrepreneurial mindset and strong ownership of business results
  • Experience directly managing, mentoring, training, or informally leading one or more team members or cross-functional workstreams
  • Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify business risks and opportunities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Strong understanding of retail math, open-to-buy forecasting, inventory turn, sales forecasting, receipt flow, margin, markdowns, and inventory productivity metrics
  • Experience using planning, reporting, or order management systems to evaluate sales, inventory, demand, and fulfillment performance
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with reporting tools, dashboards, or data visualization platforms preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence business partners and communicate clearly with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to balance competing priorities across customer experience, store execution, inventory productivity, sales, and profitability
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities, business needs, and system or process changes
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and drive follow-through across multiple workstreams
