Description

Position Summary:  Expedite UPS/Gaylord cut/sewn covers and old orders through AX, into sewing department to be sewed.  Visually inspect sewn covers to check for defects or inconsistencies and stage as instructed for make ready.  Will also learn to bag and bundle the sewn cover together.

 

Primary Job Functions:

  • Inspect covers that zipper and border are sewn to assure the sewing is correct
  • Assure that border has been pulled correctly
  • Correct cushions and backs are placed and fit well
  • Turn cushion and back and inspect it before putting sewing pack together
  • Inspect product using established sewing standards
  • After inspecting each cover to put the cover together in a tied-up bundle to move to the staging or make ready department
  • Expedite cut and sewn covers through AX and distribute into sewing by location
  • Look up and expedite old orders

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in quality control or working with upholstered furniture
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards (SOP)
  • Frequently lift and push objects up to 50 lbs
  • Bend and twist as the job requires
  • At least 1-year experience using AX system
  • At least 1-year experience with Excel/Word
  • Ability to stand 8 plus hours daily
