This position will work with Product Development pattern makers and other associates to create the specifications and samples for new styles of furniture as well as revisions to existing styles. This associate will be responsible for working with manufacturing for the building of cover fits and implementing changes in assembly at the best overall cost and value for the product. Develop samples as well as production pieces with high attention to detail.


The Product Development Upholsterer position is located in Booneville, MS.


You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will....

  • The associate must be able to build samples according to specifications and drawing, and communicate the most efficient process of manufacturing with the team.
  • Assist pattern makers in development of patterns to produce high quality samples, built on time, using the best construction methods for upholstered furniture for high end price points.
  • The selected candidate will have the opportunity to continually make improvements to current designs that maximize assembly efficiency and the cost of the furniture.
  • This associate will produce new samples as well as duplicate previous pieces from the line that follow WSI quality standards.
  • It will be critical that the associate update and assist in keeping all specification sheets, and manuals, up to date.
  • The selected candidate must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with vendor representatives and internal associates on any issues.
  • As a Williams-Sonoma associate the selected candidate will work diligently to meet all company policy and requirements, including but not limited to our respectful workplace policy and Personal Protective standards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned with a positive attitude and willing spirit to assist others in the department, facility, and the organization. Always performing and acting with professional courtesy and the highest integrity.


Check out some of the required qualifications we are looking for in amazing candidates….

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of experience in production of upholstered furniture for upper-end upholstered furniture.
  • Must possess good attention to detail and ability to work with hands.
  • Must have experience in reading and understanding production tickets.
  • Ability to interpret frame assembly instructions commonly placed in a furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements and sample deadlines.
  • Must exhibit clear communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to keep accurate records while following documented procedures and standards.
  • Must have excellent time management skills, including ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Computer Skill Such as (Outlook, & Excell). 

We prefer some of these qualities as well…. 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from and accredited university.
  • 5 years’ experience in upholstery in a PD environment.
  • Must be able to fully versed and able to utilize Solid Works.
  • Solid Works ability.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish.

Review these physical requirements, as they play a major part in this role….

  • Ability to frequently lift frames weighing 50 -60 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 8 to 10-hour periods and bend and twist at waist and knees as required to build samples.
