  • Over 4,000 Full-Time Associates across the Supply Chain
  • 15.1M square feet of small parcel, personalization, furniture, and manufacturing space in the domestic US, Williams-Sonoma has developed an agile and capable distribution network consisting of the following: 
    • Large package / furniture distribution centers located in Southern California, Northern California, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey totaling 9.2M square feet plus another 1.2M square feet of standalone final-mile furniture hubs.

Reporting to our Executive VP of Regional Operations, the VP, Final Mile, will lead strategic planning, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and month-end close of business. In addition, this position will have responsibility for all supply chain activities associated with customer and furniture order fulfillment and on-time deliveries.
 

The VP,  Final Mile position can be located in any the following locations:  Braselton, GA, Dallas, TX,  South Brunswick, NJ, & City of Industry, CA

You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will....

  • Drive initiatives related to Showroom Quality in home delivery performance for both company owned and 3PL home delivery hubs through domestic and international hubs
  • Deliver world-class white-glove service through standardized processes and seamless collaboration
  • Apply continuous improvement strategies to build upon industry leading returns/replacement performance
  • Standardize operational best practices and processes across sites
  • Lead and enhance the monthly financial close, monthly forecast, annual budget, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes for Supply Chain, including distribution centers, outbound freight, and manufacturing
  • Maintain an impressive track record of on-time delivery, cost reductions, and increased efficiency
  • Oversee daily operational activities and ensuring performance targets are met
  • Initiate enhancements and quality improvements. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide meaningful information to key executive leader
  • Monitor and report on operational performance metrics
  • Drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness at a strategic level
  • Build bench strength within the network and across the Supply Chain organization
  • Mentor and develop high-potential leaders within the operations team
  • Engage with external partners, suppliers, and industry leaders to enhance business opportunities

Check out some of the required qualifications we are looking for in amazing candidates….

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, economics, or Business a must,
  • At least 10 - 15 years experience in Furniture Home Delivery (final mile) or related big box retailer / supply chain experience
  • Experience managing multiple P&L’s
  • Experience managing 3PL vendor performance, contract and RFP’s
  • Travel, up to 40% or more (percentage dependent on business requirements) Flexibility is essential
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain, final mile deliveries or furniture operations
  • Experience with operations encompassing multiple distribution and manufacturing centers
  • Working knowledge of network design and optimization
  • Strong strategic, consulting, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and partner with various levels of management in all WSI locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to multiple audiences
  • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office products, other analytical data software, and accounting ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.)

We prefer some of these qualities as well….

  • Master’s Business Administration in a related field
